bozho!
Bozho! Hello!
Welcome to Sweetgrass Beading. I am a proud member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation (formerly known as the Citizen Band Potawatomi. There are other bands of Potawatomi). The tribe was originally located in the Great Lakes region, but the headquarters are now in Shawnee, Oklahoma after forced removal from ancestral lands.
Sweetgrass is a grass with a lovely scent and is one of the four sacred medicines in Potawatomi culture, along with tobacco, sage, and cedar. My business name is a play on words, as sweetgrass is traditionally braided. I highly recommend the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, also a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.
I use glass beads from Japan and the Czech Republic, unless I state otherwise in the product description.
Migwetch (thank you) for stopping by!
